International Agricultural Fair to be held in Mid-December
The Vietnam International Agricultural Fair entitled ‘Vietnam agriculture integrates into the international community: Quality-technology-trademark’ will be held in the southern city of Can Tho from December 7-13.
According to organisers, the fair aims to boost the development of agriculture and rural areas, expanding investment and trade promotion for Vietnam’s farm-produce, especially for the Mekong Delta region.
The fair is expected to attract around 600 pavilions, of which 500 pavilions belong to enterprises of all economic sectors, as well as agricultural research institutes, universities, foreign enterprises from 10 countries in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific. Enterprises will receive a 50 per cent subsidy in exhibition fees. They can also use an exclusive logo with their trademark when they are granted the ‘Friendly Trademarks of Vietnamese Farmers’ certificate. The fair will also present the ‘Vietnam Gold Rice 2004’ award for enterprises with important ideas and inventions which make a contribution to agricultural production and rural development.
The fair is organised by the Can Tho International Exhibition and Fair Company and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency.
