P & T Group Established
On September 1, the Office of the Government communicated the conclusions of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on the establishment of a Post and Telecommunication Group.
The Deputy Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, Enterprise Reform Commission and related authorities to assist the Post and Telecommunication Corporation in the completion of a project for the consideration of the Prime Minister, to establish the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group in September. The project is aimed at establishing a large scale and multi-sector business group with highly specialised post and telecommunications services and the participation of all economic sectors.
The Deputy Prime Minister also asked to change the current form of capital management to that of parent company. The parent company - Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group will invest directly in its enterprises and continue its control by means of capital, technology and markets.
The project will maintain the tariffs set by the State to avoid discrimination against other groups.
