Cassava Export Estimated at 438,000 Tonnes in Feb
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Developments said the export of cassava and its products was predicted to reach 438,000 tonnes worth US$125 million in February 2013, totalling over 1 million tonnes and US$308 million, representing a 3.1 fold rise in volume and a 55.4 per cent climb in value against the same period of 2012.
Most markets increased imports from Vietnam. In January, shipments to China increased 2.3 times in volume and 2.5 times in value year on year; to Taiwan rose 2.3 times in volume and 2.4 times in value; and to the Philippines expanded 91 per cent in volume and 93 per cent in value.
