Vietnamese Market from Perspective of Japanese Businesses
A workshop entitled “Vietnamese market from the perspective of Japanese companies” recently took place at Riverside Palace Convention Centre, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City. The event was organised by the Tuoi Tre Newspaper of Vietnam and the Mainichi Newspaper of Japan in collaboration with Esuhai Co., Ltd, aiming to support Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises to study and expand investment cooperation and promote trade ties when Vietnam is an important market of Japan.
Participating Japanese companies expressed their desire to learn more about Vietnam’s investment environment, guidelines and policies in trade and infrastructure construction, while showing hopes to join hands with Vietnamese enterprises and partners in business investment and development in Vietnam. Mr Le Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee, pledged to create a favourable investment environment for Japanese businesses.
Over the past years, the Vietnam - Japan relations have remarkably progressed in politics, trade, investment and tourism. In 2012 alone, the two-way trade turnover grossed US$25 billion, making Japan the third largest trade partner of Vietnam. On investment, as of the end of 2012, Japan was the largest investor in Vietnam with more than 1,800 valid projects and US$29 billion. On tourism, more and more Japanese tourists have chosen Vietnam, HCM City in particular, as their leisure destination.
