Mekong Delta to Upgrade Rice Storage System Capacity to 4 Mln Tonnes

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said it planned to upgrade the rice storage system capacity in Mekong Delta provinces to nearly 4 million tonnes. The project, started in 2010, is expected to be complete late this year.

 

The storage system, will be built in 52 sites in 13 provinces and cities, where Can Tho, Long An, Tien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap and Kien Giang will account for 70 per cent of capacity and Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Ho Chi Minh City will make up the remaining 30 per cent.
