Vietnamese - Norwegian Enterprises Meet
Vietnamese - Norwegian Enterprises Meet
On the occasion of Norwegian King Harald V and Queen Sonja's visit to Vietnam, on November 2, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organised the Meeting of Vietnamese - Norwegian Enterprises in co-ordination with Norwegian Union of Trade and Industrial Services and Norwegian embassy to Vietnam.
A trading seminar entitled "Vietnamese producers and export promotion to Norway" was also held as a good opportunity to tighten the trading relation between the two countries.
In 2003, the bilateral wholesale turnover reached US$28 million. At present, Vietnam is mainly exporting rice, aquatic products, canned vegetables and fruits, coffee, rubber and footwear to Norway while importing chemical substances and transport facilities from the country. Notably, the quota on Vietnam-made garment and textile products have been removed, which facilitates Vietnamese garment and textile enterprises to speed up export activities.
As of August 2004, Norway carried out 14 investment projects with total registered capital of US$46 million in Vietnam, ranking the 31st out of 66 countries and territories pouring investments into Vietnam.
