Railway Border Gate with Cambodia to Be Built before 2020

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung recently asked governments of provinces sharing the national border with Cambodia to consider and discuss with Cambodia for upgrading three border gates (Bu Prang, Ma Quy Tay and Vinh Xuong) to international border gates, one international railway border gate (Hoa Luu) and nine overland border gates in the Central Highlands, the Southeast and the Southwest regions from 2013 to 2020. Other border gates will be given infrastructure upgrading.

 

Vietnam pursues a standard model for overland international border gates and primary border gates which includes a joint control unit, national gate, traffic routes and functional components. Upgraded border gates are expected to better serve local social and economic development and increase incomes for the State Budget.
