Vietnam to Set up Pangasius Centre in Europe

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP) and Belgium’s Zeebrugge Port recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the construction of a pangasius (tra) distribution centre for the European Union (EU) in the Port of Zeebrugge, Belgium. Joachim Coens, CEO of Zeebrugge Port, said that apart from location advantage, the port’s distribution and electronic commodity auction services will create a new purchasing method which is different from the current method of purchasing tra fish. A sole tra fish supplier in Vietnam will directly work with an importer at the port via auctions.
