Polluting, Badly-Located Companies to Be Displaced from Hanoi Downtown
The Hanoi People's Committee said the downtown of the capital city now has 142 facilities with a total area of 260.15 ha having to be moved out of the city because of failing to meet planning requirements or polluting the environment.
Particularly, 127 establishments are engaged in industrial production, covering 247.27 ha and 15 establishments are administrative units placed on an area of 12.88 ha. To date, only 33 units (57.5 ha) have completed reallocation.
Currently, the city is forcing environment-polluting or improperly planned industrial production facilities out of the city’s downtown and residential areas. Besides, Hanoi will introduce instructions for the relocation.
A representative of Hanoi People's Committee said the city is tightly controlling and limiting the conversion of agricultural land, especially rice-growing land, and is strengthening inspection and examinations in land use to prevent administrative violations in the land domain.
