In implementing plans of the "Strengthening legislative information provision and exchange between legislative bodies of the National Assembly of Vietnam" project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Legislative Research Institute under the National Assembly Standing Committee hosted a press conference to introduce the Report on "Justice Index - Assessment of Distributive Justice and Equality from a Citizen-based Survey in 2012" in Hanoi. The report is a result of the cooperation between the Vietnam Lawyers’ Association, the Centre for Community Support Development Studies (CECODES) under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The index is built on the actual experiences of 5,045 people from a cross-section of society living in 21 provinces and cities across the country, including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Basically, the Justice Index 2012 is based on the international experiences of justice measures, rule of law and national governance.
