10th ASCOPE Conference & Exhibition: Innovation and Cooperation - The Way Forward

This is the overarching topic of the 10^th ASCOPE Conference (ASCOPE C&E) and Exhibition to be hosted by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in Ho Chi Minh City from November 28 to 30, 2013.

The ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) was set up in October 1975 by 10 national oil and gas companies/authorities in Southeast Asia. This is a forum for oil and gas companies in Southeast Asia to share experience and seek new oil and gas cooperation.

 

Rotationally held every four years by ASCOPE member countries, ASCOPE C&E is seen as the most prestigious oil and gas industry event in the region. The event provides the opportunity for all member ASCOPE states to meet, present and market their capabilities and achievements while exchange experiences, techniques, technologies and cooperation opportunities with national, international and independent oil companies in the world with the purpose of promoting the ASEAN oil and gas industry development and drawing the attention of foreign investors and companies to open potential opportunities in this strongly rising region. In addition to general principles and purposes mentioned above, this is a place for exchanging and promoting cultures of the peoples in ASEAN bloc.

 

The 10^th ASCOPE C&E or ASCOPE C&E 2013 will bring together about 300 booths and nearly 500 participants. ASCOPE C&E 2013 is considered the most prestigious oil and gas industry event in the region, held every 4 years by member states on a rotational basis.

PetroVietnam joined ASCOPE in 1996. Though later than other ASEAN members, PetroVietnam has actively promoted cooperation with oil and gas companies in Southeast Asia. Currently, PetroVietnam has taken part in ASCOPE subcommittees, including Exploration and Production Business Development Committee (E&P BDC), Processing and Refining Business Development Committee (P&R BDC), Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline (TAGP) Task Force (TF), Trading and Marketing Business Development Committee (T&M BDC), Technology and Services Committee (TSC), and ASEAN Gas Consultative Council (AGCC). In addition, PetroVietnam is also a member of many international energy organisations like the International Gas Union (IGU), the Asia Gas Industry Exhibition (GASEX), and the World Petroleum Council (WPC).

At ASCOPE C&E 2013, oil and gas companies will showcase and introduce the most advanced equipment and techniques for oil and gas exploration, production, processing and transportation, measurement and energy control instruments, automatic processing control systems, integrated operation systems for factories, software, and reform projects for oil and gas infrastructure construction. Besides, the modern technology and equipment application always plays an important role in a competitive industry like oil and gas. ASCOPE C&E will highlight technical breakthroughs in related fields.

 

ASCOPE C&E 2013 also comprises workshops and conferences for speakers and attendees to discuss currently hot issues of the oil and gas industry. In addition, attended by world-acclaimed presenters, these gatherings will bring latest technical information for engineers in the ASEAN region.
