The State Bank of Vietnam, the country's central bank, has issued a decision for the first time allowing local credit institutions to provide forex forward and option services to individuals.
All individuals having future sources of income in foreign currencies can sign forward contracts to sell their foreign money to local commercial banks at agreed price on certain date.
Meanwhile, individuals having demand of using foreign currencies for legitimate purposes such as health care and market survey in other countries or studying abroad will be able to sign forex option contracts with banks.
