Draft Law on Intellectual Property to be Submitted to NA in May

The participants discussed guidelines for the building of the law, its scope and relations with other relevant laws, as well as its capability of meeting socio-economic development and international integration requirements.
The draft law was finalised and submitted to the Government in January, 2005. The Governmental Office has introduced it to its ministries and agencies. It has been sent to 64 provinces and cities, as well as enterprises and business associations nationwide for their input and comments. In February, 2005, the drafting board adjusted and submitted it to the Government for consideration.
The drafting board said that the draft law would be open to further input and comments until May before being submitted to the National Assembly.
