HCM City's Trade, Economic Promotion Office Established in Singapore
On March 16, 2005 The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City announced a decision to set up its Trade and Economic Promotion Office in Singapore namely "Vietnam House" under the management of the city’s Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC).
Nguyen Huu Tin, Vice Chairman of the committee, affirmed that though the office is funded by the city’s budget, it will serve all enterprises across Vietnam. It will provide information on trade, markets and partners in Singapore to Vietnamese enterprises to effectively exploit trade, investment and tourism opportunities in not only Singapore but also many other countries, and in turn provide information about Vietnamese enterprises to Singaporean partners.
In the short term, Vietnam House will focus on establishing relations with economic and trade organisations of countries located in Singapore and participating in seminars on introducing investment opportunities in Vietnam. The office will officially be launched on March 23.
