Madam Thai Huong Wins ASEAN Empowering Women Award

Madam Thai Huong, Founder of TH Group and CEO of Bac A Bank, was honored with the ASEAN Empowering Women Award at the World Knowledge Forum 2019 in Seoul (South Korea) on September 26.

She is the only representative of Vietnam invited to in the 20th World Knowledge Forum. Speaking at the event, she said that she found no difficulty in running a business because, whether doing business or taking care of her family as a mother, she always does it with the heart of a mother.

“For TH Group, after food, we have now stepped into education, health and hospital business, what all mothers want for their children. So, working in this business makes me happy and passionate,” Ms. Huong shared.

This year, the award was presented to Madam Thai Huong, Founder and Chairwoman of Strategic Council of TH Group as the ASEAN Community recognized TH Group’s considerable contributions to the market and a manufacturer of fresh dairy products for human health. Besides, TH Group is the largest Vietnamese investor in Russia with a US$2.7 million cow farming and milk processing project.

Empowering Women is Asia's most prestigious non-commercial award in the ASEAN Entrepreneur Awards System. The trophy was handed to entrepreneurs who have made outstanding business achievements and served as inspirational and motivational examples for younger women’s generations in the ASEAN community.

Just a month ago, the Organizing Committee of the Stevie Awards, dubbed as the Oscar in the international business world, also presented her the title “Pioneering Innovator for True Happiness".

Before that, she was also granted a lot of awards by prestigious organizations, for example, Top 50 Asian Power Businesswomen in 2015 and 2016; Vietnam Most Influential Women by Forbes Magazine in 2019, Stevie Awards Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018.

Under her leadership, TH Group managed to inscribe Vietnam onto the world dairy map as its dairy farm set the record of “Asia's largest high-tech applied farm in 2015” with over 45,000 cows. Here, chip-fitted cows are managed by computer software (estrus management, warning and mastitis detection, cow classification, reproduction, productivity and milk quality.)

The farm is equipped with an automatically computerized milking system to ensure best milk control. Disease prevention and biosafety for cows are strictly applied to minimize diseases for cows. They are bathed, listen to music to stimulate milk secretion and produce the purest milk.

In early 2019, she initiated the sustainable dairy farming model joined by farmers to form high-tech cooperatives. The model was initially launched in Lam Dong province through Dalatmilk brand. This approach initiated a win-win benefit-sharing model for businesses and farmers.
