The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Vinh Phuc Business Association organized the Forum on “Career Counseling Orientation and Recruitment Policy" in Vinh Phuc on November 11, 2019.
Delivering the opening remarks to the forum, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong said, in response to Party and State policies on socialization of education and training, in recent years, vocational education in Vietnam has made substantial progress towards an open, flexible vocational education system to better meet the labor market demand, and train high-quality human resources amid Vietnam’s deepening integration into regional and world economies. In Vinh Phuc province, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises, the Vinh Phuc Business Association and related agencies strengthened coordination in activities to match employers and schools, and this cooperation model was piloted in 2019.
The Forum “Career Counseling Orientation and Recruitment Policy" is part of the Project “Strengthening business cohesion with vocational education in Vietnam” jointly launched by the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises (NHO) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This project engages businesses to join training processes help compile curricula and training methods to meet their needs. Businesses also send their specialists to deliver training courses at partner schools and accept their students as apprentices. Vinh Phuc province has also piloted the business-school cooperation model in human resource training.
At the forum, representatives of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the director of business development division of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise and representatives of some local businesses represented education and student flow; solutions to personnel quality improvement; labor recruitment trends and demands; cooperation and support for skilled human resource development; revised policy on vocational education; experience in career choice and career counseling in some countries; communication, network development and cooperation mechanism for business-school cooperation.
Many students at vocational training schools in the province have access to and understand more about career counseling, recruitment needs as well as recruitment policies of enterprises nowadays. At the same time, they were also provided with career counseling, job description, salary, bonus, treatment policy and recruitment demand by five large enterprises in the province, namely Toyota Vietnam Company, Prime Group Joint Stock Company, Piaggio Vietnam Co., Ltd., Cosmos Technology Co., Ltd., and Vietnam Precision Co., Ltd No. 1.
The Forum on “Career Counseling Orientation and Recruitment Policy" formed a harmonious connectivity and benefit for all three parties: Businesses, schools and students seeking to improve human resource quality, productivity improvement and competitiveness of the province.
