Vietnam Airlines to Set up Four New Enterprises

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) is waiting for government approval to establish four new affiliated enterprises in the next two years, said Tran Dinh Hung, Vice Head of VNA’s Enterprise Renovation Board.

The corporation will initially set up the Air Insurance Joint Stock Co. with 50 per cent of stocks held by VNA, and the one-member Limited Financial Co.

The multi-member Limited Surface Service Co will be formed on the combination of three surface commercial units, namely Tan Son Nhat, Danang and Noi Bai.

The one-member limited Aircraft Technique Co. will be also set up, based on rearranging VNA’s technical groups, and will include professional boards and two aircraft repairing factories A75, A76.

Vietnam Airlines expects to become a powerful economic group by 2010, with the main purpose of developing air transport, and hopes to serve 12 million passengers and transport 205,000 tons of cargo.
