Vinacoal Produces 2.8Mln Tons of Clean Coal in May

 

The Vietnam Coal Corporation (Vinacoal) produced 2.8 million tons of clean coal in May, up 3.4 per cent against April and 32 per cent on-year.

 

The figure accounted for 96.5 per cent of the national output in the month, which slightly increased by 3.5 per cent on-month to 2.9 million tons.

 

Vinacoal’s major economic indicators saw high growth ranging from 24 per cent to 48 per cent in the first five months. Especially, the corporation exploited 14.3 million tons of crude coal and 12.5 million tons of clean coal and exported more than 5.75 million tons in the period, up 26.5 per cent, 25 per cent and 40 per cent on-year, respectively.

 

The corporation set a target to sell 2.8 million tons of coal in June, including 1.33 million tons for exports, raising the total consumed coal volume to 15 million tons in the first six months of this year, fulfilling 50 per cent of the yearly plan.
