Vietnam, Israel Businesses Strengthening Cooperation
An Israeli business delegation is expected to meet Vietnamese enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in November this year, when the delegation comes to Vietnam to participate in the Agriculture Fair in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Avraham Nir, the Israeli Export Institute will also hold a conference in November this year to introduce the Vietnamese market to Israeli companies.
Vietnam and Israel have cooperated in many fields such as agriculture, telecoms and science. Israeli companies have expressed their interests in cooperating with Vietnamese partners in transport and finance.
The two countries signed a trade agreement in 2004. According to Vietnamese customs statistics, bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$66 million in 2004, with Vietnam’s exports accounting for US$31.6 million and Israel’s exports for US$34.4 million.
Vietnam mainly exports seafood, footwear, rice, cashew nuts, coffee and wooden products to Israel while it imports fertilizers, machinery and insecticide from the foreign country.
