349 Enterprises Awarded for High Export Achievements

The Ministry of Trade on September 19, 2005 in Hanoi granted awards for 349 enterprises achieving high export growth rates in 2004 (up 50 per cent against 2003). They include 50 foreign-invested enterprises (2004 export values up 138 per cent against 2003) and 299 Vietnamese firms (up 41 per cent against 2003).
 
Total gratuity for the awarded companies mounted up to VND29.406 billion (US$1.9 million), up 50.6 per cent against 2003.
 
Standing Deputy Trade Minister also Chairman of Assessment Council Phan The Rue affirmed that in the situation that the world’s economy in general and Vietnam’s economy in particular are facing difficulties, achievements of the enterprises in 2004 are worthy and prideful.
 
Thirty-three enterprises are awarded for successfully penetrating into new markets and introducing new goods. 305 firms are granted for their high export growth rates. 79 companies are rewarded for quality of their exports. 112 enterprises are awarded for their achievements in exporting goods using internal fuels and local workforce. 21 firms are awarded for large export values.
 
According to the ministry, in the first eight months of this year total export revenues reached up to around US$20.35 billion, up 18.7 per cent against the same period last year. In the last four year, Vietnam will strive to rake in US$11 billion for reaching total US$31 billion worth of export for the whole year, ensuring an on-year export growth rate of from 19-20 per cent.
