AIRSERCO, a Hanoi-based labor export company under the Vietnam Airlines Corporation is recruiting as many as 3,000 female laborers to send to Malaysia and 500 male ones to Dubai.

According to Nguyen Xuan Vui, Director of the company, those 3,000 female laborers aged between 18 and 30 will be employed to work for LECTRONICS-Malaysia Firm with a monthly salary of around VND4 million-VND6 million (US$253-$379).

They are expected to work in Malaysia under a three-year labor contract, Vui said, adding that they can extend the labor contract if they work well.

Also, the company is making plans to recruit 500 male workers to send to Dubai under the same time labor contract at monthly wage between VND4.5 million (US$284) and 6.5 million (US$411), said Vui.

According to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the country sent 57,500 workers to foreign countries in the first ten months of this year, fulfilling 82 per cent of this year's set target.

In an effort to boost the country's labor export sector, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has signed a decree on the management of Vietnamese labor abroad, which bans the illegal sending of Vietnamese citizens abroad under the pretext of labor contract, and bans Vietnamese workers from working in the areas that are not allowed by the law of Vietnam or host countries. Inciting or forcing workers to unlawfully strike or terminate their contracts is also forbidden.

The new decree also stated that any business or company violating labor export law will be fined between VND200,000 ($12.6) and VND20 million ($1,260) or could be suspended from operation if they seriously violate the law.

Currently, some 400,000 Vietnamese laborers are working in 40 countries and territories, with a total annual income of $1.5 billion.
