Recently, in Ho Chi Minh City, the British Council, an internationally recognized organization with nearly 90 years of expertise in delivering English language education, and is trusted by over 100 million learners worldwide each year, officially launched the Quality Summer English course for the summer of 2024. The course brings students a high-quality summer and allows parents to accompany them in every memorable and enriching summer learning experience.

Summer – the most awaited time of the year for children is around the corner. For Vietnamese parents, summer is not only about giving children a much-needed break after a school year; but also an opportunity to explore new environments, acquire additional knowledge, and foster comprehensive development. Ensuring that children are not overwhelmed with too many summer activities while making the most of the summer is always a top priority for parents nowadays. With over three decades of experience delivering education to multiple generations of English learners in Vietnam, the British Council understands the importance of balancing the specific needs of Vietnamese students through high-quality educational activities and quality time for other activities outside the classroom during the summer.

This year, the British Council officially launched the Quality Summer English course, featuring diverse content tailored for students aged 5 to 17. The goal of the course is to support parents in providing their children with a meaningful summer experience, enabling them to develop English language skills, soft skills, and essential social knowledge to prepare them for the real world.

Specifically, students will experience a quality summer in three aspects:

Quality class: With half a day for each session, the course's fun and engaging approach to learning will allow children to truly enjoy their summer. Highly interactive lessons and interesting topics, tailored to each age group's needs, make for a summer filled with quality and meaningful learning experiences.

Quality outcome: Students are equipped with new knowledge, soft skills, and confidence through practical, real-world-oriented topics. Each session is designed to help them continuously improve their English skills, especially speaking.

Quality connection: Beyond language learning, students can integrate and expand relationships with friends and teachers. With a balanced classroom time and no concentrated field trips or day camps, students still have time to play, engage in diverse extracurricular activities, as well as bond and experience life with family members throughout the summer.

Michael Little, General Director and Vietnam Cluster Lead, British Council, stated, ’The Quality Summer course meets the increasing demand of Vietnamese parents for high-quality English teaching programs for children during the summer. We believe that what sets apart our quality summer courses at the British Council is the meticulously designed curriculum, based on the British Council's 90 years of expertise and delivered by our team of professional and passionate teachers. This allows us to support parents in providing a memorable and meaningful summer for their children.’

In addition to the curriculum developed by education experts, the British Council is also known for its modern facilities and equipment that meet safety standards for children at all teaching locations. The summer courses are designed to cater to different age groups, including English for preschool children (5 years old), Primary Plus English (6–10 years old), Lower Secondary English (11–14 years old), Upper Secondary English and Academic IELTS (15–17 years old). All programs are delivered by highly qualified teachers with innovative teaching methods and most importantly, closely monitoring the progress of each student with care.

H.T.H, mother of student N.P.K (Hanoi), enrolled in the Secondary Plus course at the British Council, shared, ‘One aspect of the summer program at the British Council that I highly appreciate is that each session lasts just half a day with flexible scheduling. This class duration not only helps my child learn effectively but also allows our family to spend quality time together at home. Especially for my son, who is in middle school, summer is not just about arranging time for enhancing English skills, but is the time for reviewing knowledge from other subjects as well. Therefore, the sensible schedule from the British Council ensures that he can achieve all academic goals and other skill development at the same time during the summer.’

At the British Council, the growth of students is not only important to the parents but also a source of pride for every staff and teacher, and this is reflected in every lesson and activity here. Through the launch of the 2024 summer course, the British Council once again demonstrates its leading professional vision in designing courses that not only provide students with a solid English foundation but also focus on preparing soft skills, emotional intelligence, and confidence to support students in their future international integration journey.

Additionally, the British Council is currently offering special tuition fee discounts for students who register for summer courses concurrently with the academic year 2024–25 courses. Learn more about this offer here: https://www.britishcouncil.vn/hoc-tieng-anh/tieng-anh-tre-em/tieng-anh-he-2024
