Czech Skoda Praha Company plans to build a thermal power plant in Vietnam with total investment of US$503 million, according to Skoda’s trade director Jiri Smola.

The 1,000 MW plant is likely to be ready by 2010, the director said.

The concerned ministries in both countries have signed a letter of intent and a contract for the construction could be finalized by the year-end.
