Good CSR Leather and Footwear Enterprises Acknowledged

With the main support from ActionAid Vietnam, an international NGO, the Awarding Ceremony on Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2005 (CSR2005 Award) organised by Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO) in coordination with Centre for Development and Integration has taken place recently in Hanoi.

 

The CSR2005 Awards including the special award “Overall CSR excellence”, the second “Towards healthy working environment”, and other equally placed awards such as “Towards education and knowledge improvement”, “Good community development work” and “Environmental Innovation” were given to 13 enterprises.

 

This is the first Award held in Vietnam within the leather and footwear industry sponsored by the Ministry of Industry. The best 13 enterprises were not only acknowledged and voted as 2005’s good CSR corporations but also awarded the certificate of merit for good implementation of the Labour Code by the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, of which eight received a cup and Social Responsibility prize. In the coming years, the CSR Award will be organised annually in Vietnam and will be expanded to all sectors.
