State Budget Disburses US$455.7M for Infrastructure Projects in First Two Months
Vietnam is estimated to pump VND7.2 trillion (US$455.7 million) from the State budget into infrastructure construction in the first two months of this year, fulfilling 12.8 per cent of the annual plan, reported the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO).
In January-February, the central administration agencies spent VND2.55 trillion, equivalent to 14.6 per cent of the yearly plan, while localities managed VND4.65 trillion, or 12 per cent of the plan.
Among central agencies, the Ministry of Transport realized the largest disbursement with VND1.25 trillion, accounting for 18.8 per cent of the whole-year target, followed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with VND226.7 billion (or 11.4 per cent) and the Ministry of Construction with VND167.8 billion (or 10.1 per cent).
Among local agencies, large spending for basic construction was seen in big cities.
Hanoi disbursed VND911 billion, making up 19.8 per cent of the annual plan, followed by Ho Chi Minh City with VND609.6 billion, or 7.6 per cent of the plan, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province with spending of VND240.4 billion, or 11.7 per cent of the plan.
Vietnam this year plans to disburse VND56.12 trillion (US$3.55 billion) from the State budget for infrastructure construction, compared with VND62.93 trillion (US$3.98 billion) last year.
