Poland to Fund Vietnam US$280Mln to Develop Shipbuilding, Power Plants
Poland and Vietnam are negotiating two new credit amounts worth some US$280 million to promote Vietnam’s shipbuilding industry and to build a thermo-electric plant.
Accordingly, US$80 million will be injected into the shipbuilding industry and US$200 million into building the Mao Khe Thermo-electric Plant which will have a capacity of 200MW.
Currently, the two parties have made some initial agreements.
It is schemed that the two credit amounts will be signed in the second or third quarter.
Reportedly, Poland and Vietnam had previously wrapped up a credit agreement worth US$70 million to develop the shipbuilding industry. Under this agreement, Poland supplied Vietnam whole materials and equipment, and transferred technologies.
