CommunicAsia2006: Bring the Most Relevant Technologies to VietnammÂs ICT

CommunicAsia2006, EnterpriseIT2006 and BroadcastAsia2006, three respective technology shows for the information & communications, enterprise technology and electronic media industries in Asia will offer an exceptional offering as it meets the converging streams of information technology and communications, of business needs and digital entertainment. This year’s events, organized by Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), will be held at the same time from June 20-23 at the Singapore Expo.
 
CommunicAsia, EnterpriseIT and BroadcastAsia are key components of the five-day Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX) which is held annually in Singapore in the month of June.
 
CommunicAsia2006 and Enterprise IT meet Vietnam’s technology needs
Visitors from Vietnam can expect to see the latest innovations from the most influential world vendors and operators, including Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE, NTT Docomo, Lucent, Motorola, Siemens, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG among many others. The event will also feature 21 international group pavilions including India, Thailand, US, Korea, the European Union and China among others.
 
According to Hot Telecom, the number of mobile subscribers in Vietnam is expected to rise from 4.6 million in 2004 to 23.6 million in 2009. The number of Internet users is also expected to climb from 3.5 million in 2003 to 20.1 million in 2009. Reflecting the surge in ICT demand in Vietnam, a total of 468 Vietnamese visitors attended CommunicAsia and Enterprise IT in 2005, posting a 41 percent increase over 2004.

According to International Data Corp (IDC), new technologies entering the telecommunications marketplace are redefining the industry. The telecom services market in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) is projected to exceed US$170 billion, posting a growth of seven percent compared to last year. This growth is likely to come from VoIP, broadband and 3G services.
 
Reflecting the buoyant market and the latest trends, some of the key technologies addressed on the show floor include mobile entertainment, IPTV, 3G, VoIP, NGN, WiMAX, information security and embedded technologies.
 
The CommunicAsia2006 Summit – the conference arm of the four-day show, will stimulate thought leadership and set industry directions. Conference delegates from Vietnam will stand to gain insights from the focus on mobile applications, broadband and next generation networks as the industry’s three key growth areas.
 
CommunicAsia is also supported by the Vietnam Ministry of Posts & Telematics.
 
BroadcastAsia2006: Peek into the future with IPTV, HD technologies, and digital audio broadcasting (DAB) at this year’s show
BroadcastAsia2006 promises a bigger and more comprehensive platform for Vietnamese broadcasters to secure the latest broadcast technologies and solutions. Vietnamese visitors will be able to get a glimpse of latest broadcasting technologies including IPTV and computer graphics and animation, HD Technology, broadcasting to handhelds, video on demand, personal video recording, and digital audio broadcasting (DAB). BroadcastAsia2005 hosted 311 attendees were from the Indochina region.

This year, imbX will again host the Ministerial Forum on ICT, a gathering of Ministers and their representatives from countries across Asia. Last year, Mr Le Nam Thang, Vice Minister of Post and Telematics attended the forum. This year’s forum is expanded to include government officials from more countries and the topic for this closed-door forum will be “Next Generation Networks (NGN) – Opportunities and Challenges for Governments”.
