Unilever Actively Implements Social and Community Programmes
Recently, the Unilever Vietnam Fund (UVF) signed agreements on its co-operation programmes with the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Vietnam Women’s Union.
This is an important part of a social and community programme of Unilever Vietnam and UVF. Accordingly, in five years from 2006 to 2010, Unilever Vietnam with brands and UVF pledged to provide VND 72 billion per annum for social and community projects with an aim at improving the living standard of the Vietnamese people, especially women and children in three main fields, such as community and individual health and sanitary; education and development for children and capability building for women.
These projects include the improvement of the community health via the improvement of individual sanitary behaviour and environmental sanitary, the promotion of hospital sanitary, the boost of physical education and entertainment activities for children, and the capability building for women via business development and health education. In 2006 alone, total budget for the projects granted by Unilever Vietnam and UVF reached VND 35 billion.
