Mr. Ly Van Phuc, deputy director of the Cooperative, said: Like other cooperatives in the country during the renovation process, Vinh Phuoc Co-op experienced the hardest challenges of the market mechanism. The difference is our timely recognition of changes and determination to adapt to the market mechanism. We renewed from production modes to personnel apparatuses. The cooperative poured money to buy new equipment, machinery and tools with quite modern technologies and improve skill levels of its workers to handle new production methods. Particularly, the cooperative is always based on customers’ demands to create new products, designs, models and patterns. Hence, our woven items have been improved in quality and value to be favourites of customers.
At present, Vinh Phuoc has three workshops, four branches and 20 satellite product units in Ninh Hoa District, Khanh Hoa Province, which employed a total of over 3,000 workers in the district. In 2004, the cooperative recorded a turnover of some VND30 billion (US$1.88 million) and manufactured four million products.
