Capabilities Help Increase Security By Reducing Number of Passwords Required to Securely Access Web and non Web-based Applications

Underscoring its commitment to provide customers with comprehensive, standards-based identity management capabilities, Oracle had announced the Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite, delivering enterprise authentication and single sign-on for mainframe, client/server and Web applications. The Suite, a component of Oracle Identity Management, helps improve and simplify security by enabling customers to access diverse enterprise applications using a single identity and password.

Organizations are increasingly applying identity management capabilities to Web-based applications and realizing the inherent security and compliance benefits that these technologies can deliver. They are also seeking ways to extend these capabilities to their mainframe and client/server applications so end-users do not have to maintain and remember separate passwords or other authentication credentials for each application. Resulting from its partnership with Passlogix, Oracle is delivering the Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite to enable customers to access both Web and non Web-based applications and systems using a single identity and password and automatically provision users based on a common, secure infrastructure.

Financial services, healthcare, telecommunications and organizations in other industries with extensive legacy applications, will particularly benefit from the Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite. Oracle’s enterprise identity and access management platform helps organizations enforce security policies and implement strong authentication to help meet emerging compliance requirements such as Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, which focuses on the convergence of physical and logical security.

“Given the vast amount of time and resources dedicated to creating and managing user identities, companies are looking for vendors to provide identity and access management capabilities that span their diverse enterprise resources,” said Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Security and Identity Management Products, Oracle. “With the functional enhancements provided by the Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite, Oracle Identity Management is now an even better choice for enterprises seeking to reduce compliance costs, increase security and improve user experience – which can result in a more rapid return on their investment.”

“Customers in most vertical markets now consider enterprise single sign-on a critical element of a complete identity management solution,” said Marc Boroditsky, CEO and president of Passlogix. “By working together, Oracle and Passlogix will deliver an integrated solution that delivers customers quick time to value.”

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite Delivers Extended Capabilities
Certified with Oracle’s family of identity and access management products, Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite delivers enterprise single sign-on for Oracle and non-Oracle systems. Additionally, with the Suite, Oracle customers -- with a single sign-on -- can now access Oracle Web and non Web-based software such as Oracle Database, Oracle Forms, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft applications and Oracle Siebel applications.

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite is comprised of five components that improve authentication capabilities and deliver efficient access and self-service capabilities for Web and non Web-based applications. These include:
