QUALCOMM Developes Local CDMA-based Industry

Recently, QUALCOMM had announced to cooperate with EVN, Chilinh and Ubiquam on the formation of the unique joint venture – the first and only Vietnam enterprise to manufacture handsets and devices for CDMA450 networks. This JV will be the first manufacturer in both Vietnam and Southeast Asia to obtain CDMA450 technology licensing from QUALCOMM.

 

Importantly, this JV will also support Vietnam’s economy by providing another valuable area of export – “We anticipate excellent export opportunities throughout the Southeast Asia (SEA) region” Mr. Ming Li, Deputy Director General of QUALCOMM Asia-Pacific, said that.

 

QUALCOMM’s technology provides a foundation for the Vietnam market to evolve and experience the benefits of 3G CDMA networks, which include cost savings, greater subscriber capacity, spectral efficiency and superior data transmission capabilities.
