IBM Supports IT to Vietnam Preschool Education
To speed up the information technology (IT) applications to preschool education in the School Year 2006-2007, IBM Vietnam supported the Department of Early Childhood Education under the Ministry of Education and Training to organise an IT application course for over 100 preschool teachers and specialists from 20 provinces and cities nationwide from July 11 to 15.
During this course, learners were taught basic computer skills, IBM KidSmart software, KidSmart activity and environment construction by experts from IBM Vietnam, the Central College of Preschool 1, the Central College of Preschool 3 and the Department of Early Childhood Education.
The course is part of an IBM Vietnam-sponsored early education supporting programme KidSmart 2006 for the Vietnamese preschool education. To date, IBM presented 207 young exploration kits for 127 kindergartens and child centres in 46 provinces and cities nationwide. In addition, IBM sponsored the training for thousands of preschool teachers and managers nationwide.
