Thailand Exhibition 2006
The year 2006 comes with a great numbers of activities marking 30 years of Diplomatic Relation Establishment between Thailand and Vietnam, of which Thailand Exhibition 2006 holds the utmost important meaning.
For 30 years of cooperation, Thailand and Vietnam have got many achievements, especially on trade and investment. Currently, Thailand ranks third in terms of investment into Vietnam as an ASEAN member country. Acording to Foreign Investment Agency (MPI), Thai Lan has 132 investment projects in Vietnam and the total investment capital of about 1,470 million US dollar. The foreign trade turnover between the two countries in 2005 was very high, 3,259 million USD. This trend is expected to continue in 2006. For the first 5 months of this year, foreign trade turnover between Thailand and Vietnam has reached 1,489.8 million USD, increasing 343.3 million USD in comparison with the same period of last year.
As a part of the series of the trade promotion programs of Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government, Thailand exhibitions are held annually in Hanoi and Hochiminh City since 2001. This year, Thai Embassy in Hanoi in collaboration with the Vietnam Trade Fair & Advertising National Company (VINEXAD) will be organizing “Thailand Exhibition 2006” at the Vietnam Artistic & Culture Center, Hanoi from 10 – 13 August 2006. Other than that, Thailand Exhibition 2006 is specially organized in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s Accession to the Throne and the 30th Anniversary of Vietnam – Thailand Diplomatic Relations.
Famous Thai brands and high-quality products classified into 16 categories such as auto parts & accessories, construction materials, hardware and machinery, electrical appliances, chemical products, household & kitchenware products, food & beverages, gift & decorative items,banking service, education, tourism… will be displayed by over 110 booths in the exhibition with the participation of over one hundred companies from both Thailand and Vietnam.
