Vietnam International Bank Launches Securities Arm
Vietnam International Bank (VIB) has got the green light to set up a securities trading company in a near future, a source from the bank has said.
The State Bank of Vietnam, the country’s central bank has already agreed to the plan in principle, the source also said.
Under the plan, the securities trading company named VIB Securities Limited Company (VIBS) will be established as a one-member limited company with chartered capital of VND50 billion.
In a related move, Dai Viet Securities Trading Company with chartered capital of VND10 billion has recently been licensed.
Vietnam Export and Import Commercial Bank (Eximbank) is now also completing its application procedures to set up a securities trading arm while some other five or six similar applications have also been submitted to the State Securities Commission for consideration.
Currently, the country has 15 securities trading companies. It is expected that more than 20 securities trading companies will join the Vietnam stock market by the end of this year.
