APEC Business Advisory Council to Convene in Hanoi
Hanoi capital will host the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council (ABAC) fourth meeting from November 13-16, said ABAC Vietnam Chairman Hoang Van Dung on August 25.
In preparation for the meeting, ABAC Vietnam and ABAC Japan will hold a meeting in late August to help small- and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in raising their competitive edge.
ABAC Vietnam on September 21-22 will also host a symposium on nursing entrepreneurs to study proposals to submit to the meeting of ministers in charge of SMEs, Dung added.
Small and medium-scaled enterprises (SMEs) are always supported by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) financial institutions, representatives confirmed at a two-day conference in Hanoi on June 26.
To support SMEs, these organizations have facilitated SMEs’ access to financial sources, their cooperation in common investment programs, training courses on business management, and investment plans.
Trade fairs among APEC member countries will be hold to enhance SMEs to exchange business, expand markets and cooperate with financial organizations in the region.
If the aforementioned initiative is approved, the first fair is expected to be held by the end of this year.
Additionally, memorandum of understanding of setting up a co-coordinator group to enhance information exchange, instruct implementation of action programs of annual conferences and commitments was signed on June 26. This co-coordinator group will also work as the main channel to build multilateral cooperation programs.
