Ford Delivers Cars for APEC 2006 Meetings
Ford Vietnam yesterday handed to Vietnamese authorities over 20 Mondeo 2.5L sedans and six Transit minibuses, which will be used to serve APEC Vietnam 2006 delegates.
The US-led carmaker is contracted to supply a total of 142 Mondeo 2.5L sedans, 50 Transit minibuses and 40 Expedition for the APEC Vietnam 2006, becoming the largest auto supplier for the event.
Tim Tucker, General Director of Ford Vietnam, said “Ford Vietnam has the honor of the vehicle supplier for senior delegates of the APEC 2006 meetings.”
Only Expedition is imported while the other two are manufactured by Ford Vietnam.
Apart from Ford, Mercedes-Benz is another vehicle supplier for the APEC 2006, which is set to take place in early November.
According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), Ford Vietnam, the second largest foreign-led carmaker in Vietnam after Toyota Vietnam, sold 2,657 automobiles in the country in the first nine months of 2006, including 178 Mondeo 2.5L and 526 Transit minibuses.
