The 6th annual China-Vietnam border trade conference, the biggest of its kind so far, is slated for He Kou, Yunnan province, China from November 8-17, aiming to develop bilateral border economic cooperation.

The conference titled “Border trade, investment, exchange and cooperation” will draw the attention of nearly 1,000 guests and over 300 businesses from Vietnam and China.

The annual China-Vietnam border trade conference, starting in 2001, is held rotationally between China and Vietnam.

According to Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, Hu Quian Wen, the two-way trade between Vietnam and China may reach $15 billion in 2010 following rapid development of bilateral investment and trade cooperation in recent years.

This year, Vietnam expects to earn $3.2 billion from exports to China, up 8.07 per cent against 2005, estimated the MoT, adding that the figure is still modest in comparison with the year’s expected two-way trade of $10 billion.
