PM Gives Ideas to Coastal Economic Zone Development Plan until 2020

Upon the proposal of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Prime Minister on October 26 promulgated the Document 6192/VPCP-KTTH to give ideas for the Plan for the Development of Coastal Economic Zones of Vietnam until 2020.

The Prime Minister designated the Ministry of Planning and Investment to cooperate with Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and concerned organs to accomplish the Plan for the Development of Coastal Economic Zones of Vietnam until 2020 to submit to the Prime Minister no later than the end of December 2006.

The Prime Minister requested be clarification of the necessity of the setup of economic zones in Vietnam; the suitable number of economic zone models; the difference for classifying economic zones (criteria for specific types); the general and particular policies for each type of economic zone models; the roadmap to develop specific types of economic zones, the management decentralisation for economic zones and other necessary contents.

The Prime Minister will consider the approval of economic zones and border gate economic zones in Nghe An, Quang Binh and Long An provinces after he ratifies the Plan for the Development of Economic Zones of Vietnam until 2020.
