Businesses Set For DHL-VNPT Express Ltd Joint Venture
On Nov 9th 2006, DHL - the world’s leading express and logistics company and VNPT announced its new joint venture, reinforcing the companies’ belief and commitment to the rapidly developing Vietnam market.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment granted the license for DHL-VNPT Express Ltd joint venture application on Sep27,2006. The joint venture will combine the strengths of DHL in the international express, logistics and first-rate customer service, with the strong local knowledge and market know-how of VNPT.
The joint venture replaces the 18-year-old Agency Agreement that the two parties had operated under in the past.
Mr Nguyen Bich Dat - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Planning said that DHL is the first international Express company to annouce a joint venture in Vietnam. The new license will have no impact on exsiting customers, who will continue to enjoy uninterrupted DHL Express services during the period of transition.
