Vinacafe - Vietnamese Taste Treats International Friends

During the APEC Vietnam Summit 2006, Vinacafé Bien Hoa has been selected to supply more than eight tonnes of coffee to present to leaders of APEC economic leaders and serve delegates. The 4-in-1 ginseng coffee - the best quality coffee in Vietnam - is one of the presents to APEC economic leaders. Vinacafé products for the APEC Vietnam Summit 2005 delegates are blended under the popular formulas, experienced strict safety checks and are designed in compliance with the international popularities.

Vinacafé is a leading coffee processor in Vietnam with an annual growth rate of more than 35 per cent. Vinacafé now holds more than 50 per cent of instant coffee market share in Vietnam and earns more than US$3 million a year from export.

 

Growing from a coffee factory named Coronel established by the French in 1969 with an initial processing capacity of 80 tonnes of instant coffee a year, Vinacafé has to date run two modern factories to turn out 1,200 tonnes of instant coffee a year. However, this output still failed to meet the demand in Vietnam and export markets. Therefore, since early 2006, Vinacafé Bien Hoa invested some VND500 billion (US$31.25 million) to build a factory in Long Thanh Industrial Park in Dong Nai Province. The factory with an annual capacity of 3,200 tonnes a year, mainly for export, is scheduled for operation in late 2007 or early 2008. The current coffee products of the company has been shipped to more than 20 countries worldwide, including the US, Japan, China and Canada.

 

Vinacafé Bien Hoa is unique in Vietnam as well as the only company in Southeast Asia to be honourably bestowed the WIPO Award from the World Intellectual Property Organization. WIPO, which is under the 138-nation United Nations, annually sorts out companies with outstanding intellectual property achievements applied to business and production activities in the world. This award reaffirms the supreme quality of Vinacafé in particular and the position of Vietnamese coffee in the world in general.
