Alfa - Bank Plans to Invest US$700 Million in Vietnam's Telecom
Alfa Bank, one of the biggest private banks in Russia, is planning to invest in Vietnam. The bank is expected to focus on three fields, including telecommunication, oil and gas, and finance, in Vietnam.
The bank has planned to invest US$700 million in telecommunication in Vietnam, in particularly in mobile phone operators. According to Peter Aven, president of Alfa Bank, said Alfa Bank had chosen the telecommunication sector because the Vietnamese market had a huge potential with a high growth. Alfa Bank is planning to invest in three telecommunication companies in Vietnam, including MobiFone, Vinaphone and Viettel.
