First Vietnamese Shrimp Exporter Gets US Quality Recognition

The Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (Fimex VN), one of the top Vietnamese shrimp exporters, has received the 2006 Outstanding New Supplier Award from the US Darden Restaurant group for its long-continued supply of safe shrimp products.
 
Fimex VN is the first Vietnamese food company to receive such recognition, according to the Vietnam Association of Shrimp Exporters and Processors (VASEP).
 
The company has so far this year earned some US$60 million from seafood exports, which are now available in almost 30 overseas markets.
 
Its products such as fried shrimp and flour-coated shrimp have always achieved the highest standards on food hygiene and freshness as well as natural color and fragrance as the company applies international quality management standards.
 
The company starts listing 6 million shares, coded FMC, on the stock market today at a price of VND60,000 per share.
Fimex VN currently has registered capital of VND60 billion (US$3.75 million).
