The National Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam) just received license to build a polypropylene (PP) factory with total investment capital of VND3 trillion (US$187.5 million) in the Dung Quat Economic Zone in central Quang Ngai province, state media reports.

The 16-ha plant will use propylene gas material from the Dung Quat Oil Refinery to produce 150,000 tons of PP grain each year. The product that meets regional and international standards is to be used for the local packing, household utensil and automobile industries.
Construction is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2007 for operation in early 2009. The factory will create jobs for 80 workers.
