MARD Offers Awards for High Quality Agro-Forest Products
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), on Feb 2, granted Vietnam High Quality Agro-Forest Products Awards to 18 local enterprises.
The ceremony, the first of its kind, aims to honor enterprises producing high quality products which are welcomed by consumers, and to boost production and consumption of Vietnamese high quality products.
The awarded enterprises, including Trung Nguyen Coffee, Donafood Cashew, Dien Bien Rice, Hoang Hau Dragon Fruit, Thai Binh Tea and Vinamit, in addition, have stable and healthy trade relationship with clients.
Vietnam’s agriculture production value reached VND20,000 billion in 2006, posting average growth of 10 per cent on year.
Last year, Vietnam notched up $7.16 billion in agro-forest product exports, up 19.7 per cent compared with 2005.
This year, the country is expected to raise export revenue from the products to $7.4 billion, some 2.8 per cent higher than 2006. (Vietnam Financial Times)
