ADB Finances Urban Environment Improvement in Central Town
The central province of Quang Nam will conduct a project improving the urban environment in Tam Ky town with US$15.4 million from Asia Development Bank (ADB).
ADB will also provide US$1 million in non-refundable aid to raise public awareness on improving the urban environment, Hoang Xuan Viet, head of the city government said.
He added the capital will be used to build 5.1 kilometers of roads, 9.8 kilometers of water drainage pipelines, and three reservoirs covering 18 hectares, to regulate flood and rain water, along with two floodgates.
Tam Ky is one of six cities in central Vietnam to implement the ADB-funded projects improving the urban environment.
Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung earlier approved the draft content of the negotiated credit agreement, and other documents with Asian Development Bank to add $3.18 million to the project developing urban centers in Central Vietnam. (Thanh Nien Online)
