US$32.75-Mln Shipyard Built
Ca Mau Shipbuilding Industry One-member Co. Ltd kicked off construction on a shipyard to build ships capable of carrying up to 30,000 tonnes, in Hang Vinh Commune, Nam Can District, Ca Mau Province in mid-March 2007.
The facility, on 60 ha in a 200-ha industrial zone, needs investment capital of VND524 billion (US$32.75 million) in the first phase. The dockyard is scheduled for operation in 2008 and will employ some 3,000 workers. Most ships built will be exported.
