Jabil Licensed Investment in HCM City

The Authority of Saigon Hi-tech Park (SHTP) handed over the investment licence to Jabil Vietnam Co. Ltd on May 8. 

The US$100-million plant, located on an area of 5 hectares in Block I4 B-1 in HSTP, District 9, will install and examine printed circuit boards, install systems and examine completed hi-tech products, manufacture precise plastic moulds as well as main boards, network tools, telecom equipment and consumer electronics.

Investment for the first stage from 2007 to 2010 is put at US$30 million. It is expected that the plant will be put into operation in September 2007 to manufacture some 3.5 million products a year. The second stage will start after 2010 with an additional amount of US$70 million to double its output to seven million products a year.
