The Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Hanoi has decided to build a South Korean business assistance centre in Vietnam in early May 2007.

According to KOTRA general Director in Hanoi, the volume of South Korean businesses and investment capital has soared. In 2006 alone, South Korea invested some US$2.8 billion in Vietnam, accounting for more than a third of foreign investment capital in Vietnam. This made South Korea the third largest foreign investor in the country. The KOTRA-run centre will provide information on the investment environment in Vietnam for South Korean companies already in Vietnam and those planning to enter Vietnam.

The establishment of this centre will enable further development of South Korean business in Vietnam, and bring more Korean enterprises to Vietnam.
