Hong Kong Giant Plans US$100Mln Power Plant in Central Vietnam

Hong Kong’s Luks Group plans to pump US$100 million into building a 100MW thermo-power plant in central Thua Thien Hue province, said K.T Luk, general director of the group, while working with the provincial People’s Committee June 6.
 
Luks will invest in the fifth clinker production line, capable of processing 4,000 tons a day, in the province.
 
Recently, the wholly Hong Kong-invested Luks Cement Vietnam Ltd opened a branch in the country’s largest commercial hub Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to sell its Jinding labeled products in the southern region.
 
Luk’s products, granted certifications ISO 9001:2000, OHSAS 18001: 1999 and ISO14001: 2004, include PCB 40, PCSR 40; PC 40, PCB30 and especially low radiation cement for dam construction.
 
The company, established in Vietnam over 10 years ago, has its headquarter at Saigon Trade Center in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, it has branches in the central Thua Thien Hue province and the southern Long An province. (Vietnam Economic Times)
