Southern Dong Nai province has received approval from the Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai to carry out a bridge and road project at total cost of US$350 million,
The province will mobilize funds to develop the project under the build-operate-transfer form.
The Nhon Trach bridge and road project, which was first planned in 2001, include a 17.5-km road and a 2.2-km bridge across the Dong Nai river.
Last year, Britain's Dorman Long Technology worked with provincial authorities to study the possibility of developing the project.
While, South Korea's Kumho Industrial has completed a feasibility study to invest in the project, in which around US$330 million is needed for the project.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment said Vietnam needs some US$140 billion for development investment between 2006 and 2010, of which the home source will generate US$90 billion while the remainder will come from abroad. (Vietnam Economic Times)
